Malcom and Martin is poster series we created in 2018 to celebrate Washington, DC’s art all night efforts where Malcolm X avenue and Martin Luther King Jr Avenue intersected.
Project Highlights
Concept
To honor both Martin Luther King Jr. and Malcolm, we designed posters that were placed on the streets bearing their names.
Design
We chose depict the historic figures in a vibrant color scheme that gave life to the corridors in which they'd be placed. We also included a quote from each along with a title they held.
Reception
The community really appreciated these designs and there were several reports of people seeking to take he posters for themselves because they loved it so much.
Impact
These posters provided inspiration to people in the community by reminding them of two historical figures who paved the way justice and equality.
